While Samsung’s flagship series gets most of the coverage, it’s the budget lineup, particularly the mid-range “A” series, that most people buy. Therefore, with expectations running high for the 2024 iterations, recent reports have shed light on the significant changes expected for the popular Galaxy A35. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
While Samsung has yet to confirm the exact launch date, reports suggest the device could launch in March or April 2024.
According to a report from MySmartPrice and tipster OnLeaks, the A35, measuring approximately 161.1 x 77.9 x 8.2mm, will feature rounded corners and a rear design aligned with the aesthetics of Samsung’s 2023 smartphone lineup. Moving to the back, the phone will house three vertically aligned camera sensors positioned in the top left corner. Additionally, reports also suggest a white color option.
On the front, the phone is expected to feature a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED 120Hz flat display, along with a centrally located punch-hole selfie camera and slimmer bezels.
Unlike last year’s Galaxy A34, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080, the A35 will feature the in-house Exynos 1380 chip. The Exynos 1380 is an octa-core chip featuring four performance cores running at 2.4 GHz and four efficiency cores running at 2.00 GHz. In terms of raw power, the chipset scored 697 in Geekbench’s single-core test and 2332 in the multi-core test.
However, for context, the Dimensity 1080 achieves a higher score of 956 in Geekbench’s single-core test and 2408 in the multi-core test, making it an overall superior chipset compared to the Exynos 1380. Nevertheless, the A35 will pack the ARM Mali G68 GPU, along with a minimum of 6GB of RAM.
Rumors circulating suggest that the A35 will feature a new 50MP main camera, accompanied by an 8MP UltraWide camera and a 2MP depth sensor. However, it is important to note that these details may change as more information about the device surfaces.
Based on the Geekbench listing, the Galaxy A35 is expected to ship with Android 14 out of the box, running on top of OneUI 6. This implies users can anticipate at least four major Android OS updates.
While specific details about the battery capacity remain unclear, rumors suggest a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.
Although official pricing remains undisclosed, recent reports hint at a similar range to its predecessor, around $250.
